What is Orbit and how does it work?
Orbit is a collaborative workspace platform that connects your team's tools, tasks, and conversations in one place. It works by integrating with the services you already use — pulling data in and pushing updates out automatically.
You can think of it as a central hub: everything flows through Orbit, so your team always has a single source of truth.
How do I create my first workspace?
After signing up, click New Workspace from your dashboard. Give it a name, invite your team members, and choose which integrations to activate. The setup wizard walks you through each step.
Can I use Orbit for free?
Yes — Orbit offers a free tier for teams of up to 5 members with core features included. Larger teams and advanced integrations are available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
What browsers and devices does Orbit support?
Orbit runs in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Native mobile apps are available for iOS 16+ and Android 10+.
How does billing work?
You're billed monthly or annually (with a 20% discount) per seat. Your invoice is generated on the same date each month and charged automatically to your card on file.
Can I switch plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remainder of the billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next cycle.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Billing → Cancel plan. Your workspace remains active until the end of the paid period. Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation so you can export it.
Do you offer nonprofit or educational discounts?
We offer 50% off for verified nonprofits and educational institutions. Contact our team with your organisation details to apply.
Which integrations are available?
Orbit currently integrates with Slack, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Google Drive, Jira, Figma, and more. A full list is available on the Integrations page in your workspace settings.
How do I connect an integration?
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Find the service you want to connect
- Click Connect and follow the authorisation flow
Can I build a custom integration?
Yes. Orbit exposes a REST API and supports webhooks for real-time events. See our Developer Documentation to get started.
Is my data encrypted?
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Encryption keys are managed per-tenant and rotated quarterly.
Does Orbit support SSO?
SAML 2.0 SSO is available on the Enterprise plan. We support identity providers including Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and any SAML-compliant provider.
Where is my data stored?
Data is hosted in AWS data centres in the US (us-east-1) and EU (eu-west-1). Enterprise customers can choose their preferred region.
